Regression Rundown

Overview

A currently very work in progress rundown.

The motivation behind creating this rundown is to provide more doable content for smaller teams that enjoy the stealth elements of the game. I built it with two players in mind, though you could do it with 3 or 4 players as well if you want.

There are still forced loud sections, but not as many with the base game, with the focus of the difficulty on getting through tricky stealth sections.

Future direction

I'm currently focusing on making RR01 more stable and brainstorming ideas for the next level. I do plan to make more levels, though my ability to work on this project will be limited due to real life events.

Known Issues

I'll mention the issues I'm aware of here, if you encounter a bug not listed here please let me know (@cptForge on the discord).

RR01

  • Rarely, the main objective is bugged and only directs you to only insert a cell into one generator instead of two. If this happens, just restart the level. From what I can tell this happens about 10% of the time.
  • Sometimes, for some people more than others, the level's audio will behave a little weird. Primarily the sound of the elevator and ambiance noise in the complex.
  • Some people might experience the game crashing mid-level if played in co-op. From my experience only one person would crash and they'd be able to restart the game and join back. If you encounter this please let me know, so far I'm the only person I'm aware of who's encountered it so as long as others aren't seeing it, I'm figuring it's an issue on my end.

Other Feedback

If you have other feedback about the level, whether you hate it or love it, feel free to reach out to me (@cptForge on the discord).

Do note that my primary motivation in this project is making what is my ideal stealth/horror game, which the base game GTFO comes close to but especially in R5 has deviated from. So even if most folks aren't a fan of some of the directions I take it in (stealth, easier scout whacking), just know that I'm first and foremast wanting to put together a level that I personally find fun.

Change Log

0.0.1

  • Initial implementation of RR01, high section only (extreme to come).

0.0.2

  • Attempts to fix welcome screen.
  • RR01 "hub" central zone cleaned up.
  • RR01 High zone numbers adjusted.

0.0.3

  • RR01 Extreme section added.
  • RR01 High section's silent scans reduced in number of rounds, to make the first level's high section more doable.

0.0.4

  • Reduced the health of scouts. If you're experienced with this game I realize that might not be a direction you'd like but IMO the scout whacking mechanic being so tricky isn't valuable, it's just a question of if you've taken time to learn how to hit the hitbox.
